Industry Placement
Hospitality and casino management requires practical mastery of skills. Industry placement (internship) lets the student take what they learn in the lecture theater and apply it in a real life, real time format, while getting paid! Industry Placement is complementary to The Casino School curriculum, and the pay rates are at or above the Australian standards for part-time hospitality staff.
Our diverse contacts in the hospitality and casino industry give students numerous options as to where they would like to start their career. To ensure that students maximise the value of the two industry placement semesters, we consult directly with each individual student, identify suitable jobs with appropriate hospitality enterprises, and assist students obtain the desired positions. Students can apply for positions within the industry that best suits their career aspirations, including Food and Beverage, Accommodation, Sales and Marketing, Human Resources, and Gaming.
Students will benefit greatly from industry placement by:
- putting into practice the skills and knowledge learnt in the classroom.
- experiencing different company cultures, systems & work practices.
- gaining valuable work references.
- developing career opportunities and obtain insight into a range of career paths.
- making lasting relationships within the industry.
- earning good wages while learning.
- sampling different positions in the hospitality industry.
We want our students to enjoy and benefit greatly from their industry placement. We offer continual support throughout industry placement with regular visits and contact from the school. Professional and pastoral support is only ever a phone call away!
ICAE will make every effort to help students secure a rewarding and appropriate position. In the event that students do not find a suitable paid position, ICAE will help facilitate unpaid work experience to ensure students obtain valuable workplace experience.
