The Year of the Ox Begins
On January the 26th, followers of the Chinese calendar went from the year of the Rat to the year of the Ox. The Ox is the sign of prosperity through fortitude and hard work, and people born during the year of the Ox are said to be dependable calm and modest.
The Vietnamese also celebrated on the 26th of January with Tet, which literally means “eating”. The Tet celebration signifies the beginning of the lunar calendar and this year iis symbolized by the Water Buffalo.
New Students Settle In
The Casino School’s January 2009 intake has arrived in full force. New students have been entertained, informed and enlightened during their week of orientation, where the fresh-faced students began their job hunt, found accommodation and got to meet fellow students from a range of cultures.
Dealer’s school has also begun for the new arrivals and ICAE’s gaming training area has again been the centre of laughs and entertainment as ICAE’s gaming guru, Fatima Norris, teaches them blackjack.

Part 3: Time Management
Time is becoming a rare commodity in these days of increased workloads, long supermarket lines, rush-hour traffic and busy social calendars. Procrastinators among us know that stressful feeling we get when all the work we have put off comes running back to bite us.
Snorkeling with thousands of colourful fish, flying over Australia’s magnificent Great Barrier Reef to collect mail, relaxing in luxury spas, making friends with tourists and keeping blogs and photo diaries of the adventure, all while living rent-free in a luxury beachfront house and earning A$150,000 over six months. This is the tantalizing package that Tourism Queensland is offering the successful candidate for the ‘Caretaker for Hamilton Island’ position, commencing on July 1st 2009, in Australia’s picturesque Whitsunday Islands.
Patrick Kar Hoo LeungPatrick discovered the Casino School at Hong Kong’s International Education Expo in 2008 and very quickly made his decision to move to Darwin to study. This life changing decision for Patrick meant leaving his job and family and pursuing a new career but after speaking with him, it seems that it has been a successful change!
Legislation changes in the Northern Territory have made the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate compulsory for all hospitality employees serving alcohol at liquor licensed venues.
