Student Profile: Bibash Adhikari Spotlight on Australia: The Ghan Railway Adventure Dream Property Opens on Cotai Strip Australian Economy Leading the World The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has increased Australian economic forecasts for the end of 2009 and for 2010 by projecting only 0.5% set back for 2009 and growth of 1.5% for next year. This follows the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's (OECD) reports of minus 0.5% for 2009 and 1.25% in 2010, giving Australia the lead amongst major economies in the OECD portfolio. Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd says "...we currently, among major economies, have the fastest growth...we also have the second-lowest unemployment." First Semester Comes to an End Students from the Casino School's January 2009 intake are about to take a well earned break from study. Over the next few weeks of semester break, the students will be preparing for their industry placement and reflecting on what has been an eye-opening and rewarding first semester in Darwin. |
